It all starts with the actions of a dark corporation.

Maybe your typical cliché enemy, but this Umbrella surely has its ways.

Releasing the dangerous T-virus and their deadly bioweapons, let’s get into the doom and over the top side of the events surrounding Raccoon City and its bad luck habitants.

After the success of RE2 and RE7, Capcom brings us the outstanding and classic remake of the 1999’s Resident Evil 3 for PSX.

With the help of the impressive RE engine, this new retelling of the adventures of Jill Valentine in the heart of the outbreak is full of action, zombies and above all, the unforgettable Nemesis.

After the events of the Mansion, the former S.T.A.R.S. officer is put into suspension and when her time to leave is almost complete, the outbreak gets home.

Now, Jill must find a way out of this madness and with the help of Carlos Oliveira, a member of the UBCS mercenary forces, discover the events under the curtains.

So, Umbrella is experimenting with some serious and twisted bioweapons, what could go wrong?

02 THE IMPORTANCE IS IN THE DETAILS

A ride that even with its shortest, doesn’t disappoint in the details.

Raccoon City is alive and full of the non-living.

Taking a step further from the scale of RE2, this new remake is not short of graphic wonders.

From the posters, billboards and into the scenery, Capcom took their time to reveal the consequences of the T-virus outbreak.

Lights, explosions, alleys, and buildings overthrew.

A feast to your eyes.

You'll find some joy revisiting a level up makeover of Raccoon City’s streets.

Just don’t stay for too long.

03 SMOOTH FEET, JILL

This Resident Evil 3 takes survival horror to a new level, an adrenaline rush level.

With the return of the unbreakable Jill Valentine, in her final duty as S.T.A.R.S. we’re now on the way to scape the dark arms of Umbrella.

Definitely, you’ll feel the confidence of an experienced zombie kicker, a significant difference from the rookies Leon and Claire on RE2.

Jill is more agile in her escape through the city.

The over the shoulder perspective and improved dodge mechanics of RE3, is well suited for this type of survival gameplay.

Leaving behind the classic tank control from the original entry is a big plus.

Of course, skilled moves only mean more zombies to evade, beasts to run from and by all, a larger, faster and deadly monster to dodge.

Well, Hello, Mr. Nemesis.

04 MR. NEMESIS, I DON’T WANNA GO

Yes, more Zombies equals more bites.

But, believe me, that’s the least of your problems.

The best of the best from jump scares to adrenaline-pumping sequences (you name it) comes from the very controlled appearances of Mister Nemesis.

A fast and furious version of the calm and collected Mister X that still haunts our dreams.

With the best boss battles of this new generation of RE games, Nemesis will demand all your attention and focus to end his menace.

So, be aware this S.T.A.R.S exterminator is coming for you.

05 BACK TO THE ROOTS RE

What’s definitely coming back is the outstanding level design that pushes every mission in Jill’s hands.

Every part of Raccoon City is alive and full of wonders.

The great mix of dark and light scenarios with engaging sound effects and immersive atmosphere will keep you under your toes in every step.

The action survival horror that’s part of the franchise is back on Resident Evil 3 Remake.

With more ammo, guns, and grenades, experience a power-up way to stop your enemies.

And the return of the ultimate inventory manager with the classic safe rooms will demand a good use of your resources.

Every bullet, spray, herb and grenade matter in your run far from danger.

And with Nemesis on sight, believe us you better store your goods carefully.

06 T-ENEMY

Even when Nemesis is the star of the show, some classic enemies make their come back to chase down the good ol Jill.

While we miss the big as* spiders or the equally disgusting Grave Digger.

The Hunters, Lickers, Zombie Dogs and the gross Drain Deimos with their repulsive parasites (beware their sequences are really nasty) play their part really nicely.

Even Nemesis, is able to command some special zombies.

So, you better aim good and high.

07 KEEP COMING TO ME, REMAKES

Capcom keeps aiming good in this era of well-made remakes.

By putting the RE engine to good use, RE3 is an action-packed feast.

Shorter and lighter in the narrative than its predecessor, but with plenty of details scattered on the dairies and logs of the residents of Raccoon City that make up for an entertaining and engaging chapter of the franchise.

With outstanding graphics, a Nemesis worth to fight and movie-worthy sequences, RE3 won’t disappoint.

Now, Capcom reach an interesting point with two paths.

Push the survival action genre with a Resident Evil 4 Remake or keep the survival horror level of a potential RE8.

The former path didn’t go that well in the past generation, but RE4 left its mark on the industry.

Maybe make a jump into VR? Valve with Half-Life: Alyx is showing its impressive potential.

Survival Horror RE on VR?

With RE7, RE2 and RE3 Capcom return to their acclaimed roots of outstanding storytelling, characters, plots, and survival-action-horror gameplay.

Surely, the future looks bright for a legendary franchise that is not made to die.
