Although it seems like the best days of the horror genre have been left behind, we have had some very good titles in the current decade that have made us enjoy (ironically) the horror.
Here we present the Top Ten Best Horror Movies from the 2010s decade so far.
Turn off the lights, get under the blankets and prepare yourself to watch them all!
1 THE CONJURING (2013)
The worst thing a horror movie can make to our inner peace is to mention the words, “Based on a true story”.
The Conjuring is the tale of what the world-renowned demonologist Ed and Lorrain Warren found in a family farm back in the 70s when they responded to the family pleadings due to a dark presence in the house.
2 GET OUT (2017)
Let’s be honest: No one likes it when it comes to meet the in-laws.
However, Chris, a black guy who is in a relationship with a white girl called Rose, encourages himself to go to their mansion and get to know them.
The very odd behaviors of the people in there start worrying Chris until he finally finds a disturbing truth.
Get Out is an outstanding movie that perfectly combines interracial humor with thrill and suspense.
3 A QUIET PLACE (2018)
Imagine for a moment how would it be to be afraid and not being able to scream or calling for help.
A Quiet Place is a thriller that dives us into a world where dark creatures are waiting for hunting us from the very moment you emit any sound.
C'mon this is a psychological terror at its best.
4 THE CONJURING 2: THE ENFIELD POLTERGEIST (2016)
After three installments of The Conjuring franchise, the thrill and darkness remain the same.
The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist follows Ed and Lorrain Warren to the documentation of the famous case of paranormal activity into the house of the family Hodgson in London.
5 HEREDITARY (2018)
Some people just cannot deal with their parents.
Beyond that, there are some rare cases in which these hard relationships do not finish even after death.
Hereditary is a horror film that tells us the story of Annie Graham, a woman who never felt the love from her mother in her childhood.
Once the old-woman passes away, Annie's children start seeing ghostly figures around the house and everything else gets ugly.
All this results in a progressive round of horror shots that will scare the toughest ones.
6 IT (2017)
Clowns are one of the most common phobias that exist, and after watching IT the reasons are very clear.
IT is the adaptation of the well-known Stephen King’s novel of the same name, which focuses on a mysterious and evil clown that likes to come out and kill every now and then.
A classic thriller that is worth to watch it.
7 IT. CHAPTER TWO (2019)
The sequel of IT returns with the same dose of horror, disturbing suspense and classic thriller art.
The protagonists of the first part have grown old but the same fears they had when kids, come back: Pennywise is ready for another round and you better be too.
8 IT FOLLOWS (2014)
It’s normal to feel a little ashamed after our first sexual encounter, but definitely what Jay, an 18-year-old girl, felt and experienced after that was far beyond it.
Nightmares, dark visions and spirits start chasing Jay in this very perturbing thriller that’s going to make you want to close your eyes throughout the film.
9 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE (2016)
A cocktail of paranoia, tension, horror, and suspense is what you receive when watching 10 Cloverfield Lane.
Experience the anguish of a girl kidnapped by a master-mind maniac after she suffered a car accident and her struggle for surviving and escaping.
10 THE WITCH (2015)
Okay, I know that everything used to be “witches fault” back in the XVII century, but after some very weird events happening to a family of settlers living in the boundaries of a mysterious forest, that theory starts getting a sense.
The Witch comes to be a thriller with a very solid plot and disturbingly well-made scenes.
Tell us, which of these charming movies would you recommend us to watch with our significant other?
